The lure of the wild. Maybe that is what prompted the members of the Catholic church to so name this plot of paradise. The estate lies in a large valley on Tobago’s East coast, midway between the northern most point Charlottesville and the southern most point at the tip of Crown Point. After a mere 20 minute walk along the nature trail, beneath inspiring bamboo “cathedral” arches, you emerge at the spectacular Rainbow Waterfall, where a rainbow frequently dances in the spray. Even the jaded traveller is captivated by the sight. The waterfall’s pool can be anywhere between 6 to 16 feet deep, depending on the time of year.
The name ‘Rainbow” was given to this mystical fall by Hughford Mckenna, some 40 years ago, when he acquired the adjoining farm from the Catholic Church.
Twin River Falls
Twin river falls is another waterfall in this rainforest vicinity. Its another one of the wonders that God has put on earth for us to enjoy. It has a larger pool, which is about 12 feet deep. It is just about a two hour walk and tours are also given to get there.
